FM Marin AB continues to develop its unique measurement method, Gobius Sensor Technology, i.e. to measure the fluid level from the outside tank, nothing on the inside, no drilling holes. Over the past year, they have built a new platform that will make it easier to integrate Gobius tank gauges with other instruments and different bus systems. The new platform also makes it easier to add new features in the future and create OEM versions according to the needs of boat manufacturers. Gobius supports now 0-5 Volt, 10-190 Ohm, 240-33 Ohm, 4-20 mA and On/Off signals for empty and full tank. Gobius has also supported 12-24 Volts for several years.
Older systems can easily be upgraded by only replacing the Control Unit. All Gobius products are available for delivery from 1 of August.

Swedish level sensor manufacturer Gobius has appointed Nixon Marine Global Ltd to provide sales and distribution services in North America. All Gobius product will ship from the Nixon Marine Global facility in Miami, FL. In addition, Nixon Marine Global Ltd will provide sales representation in European countries (excluding Nordics).

Now we can focus on production, but also develop our unique sensor technology further”, said Anders Meiton, CEO at FM Marin.

With their own patented technical solution, Gobius provide tank monitors for black waste, water and fuel tanks. The Gobius product senses through the tank wall, allowing for accurate measurement and indication without placing the sensor in the tank and without drilling holes in the tank.

The Non-invasive Holding Tank Monitor

The prospect of installing, or in fact having anything to do with a holding tank monitor just isn’t that appealing. That monitor often requires holes to be drilled! Yet that monitor, as many boaters find out, is critical in onboard waste management. The Swedish company Gobius has a solution to the problem.

Sweden has been tightening its waste restrictions, and Gobius has responded with an elegant soluation to the monitoring challange. The technology at the heart of the unit is “essentially the same as when you tap a glass with water with spoon – different tones arise depending on the content of water.”

But the advantage of the Gobius monitor does not stop there. Installation of the unit is now fully automatic, which was not the case with previous models. The auto-install feature also makes it more accurate.”
