Gobius’ unique technique for measuring from the outside of the tank opens up for new applications.
Gobius was originally designed for stainless steel tanks. The technique has been refined so it is now working on all tank materials.
In Holland, many boats are built in steel, including the tanks. We have been at the shipyards to test and control that Gobius works on these steel tanks. Now we can proudly announce that Gobius works on steel tanks up to 5 mm thickness.
In September we made our first installation of Gobius for a country cottage. You may read more at: http://akefredriksson.blogspot.com/2009/09/plotsligt-ar-det-fullt-i-toatanken.html
The blog is in Swedish but the pictures may give you an idea of the installation.
Our test department is now equipped with a fibre glass tank. Gobius can handle this material, 4-8 mm tank wall thickness, without problems. These tanks are common at country cottages, i.e. houses not connected to the municipal drainage and water supply.
Many cottages with waste holding tanks lack or have malfunctioning level indicators. In other words, the tank problems are as widespread on land as they are on the sea. Orust alone (large island on the west coast of Sweden) have more than 6000 cottages with private waste holding tanks that are in need of regular draining. Gobius tank guide oct 09
I am in need of a non-contact tank monitoring system. I need to monitor 30 to 40 steel tanks. The tank volumes are very large, 500 bbls each. Can the exterior sensors be attached and reattached or are they permanent installations? We need to be able to remove the sensors from the tanks after every job. We need an output range of 4mA to 20mA to interface with our software. Is your system intrinsically safe? Please advise.
